Class 3 2020 - 2021
Monday-Thursday - Mrs Eley
Friday - Mrs Griffin-Jones
Teaching Assistant - Mrs Gibson
Welcome to Class 3!
My name is Mrs Eley and I am in class Monday-Thursday. I have been a teacher at Halebank C of E Primary School for over fifteen years now. For the majority of my time here, I have taught in Class 3 (Year 3 and 4) where I particularly enjoy seeing the children increase in independence and develop their aspirations in preparation for futures full of potential and discovery. I have also had experience in teaching most other year groups throughout my time here. Throughout my career, I have taken on many roles including being subject leader for Maths, PE and MFL. I am also Educational Visits Co-Ordinator, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and a Co-Opted Governor. I enjoy visiting new places, craft activities and spending time with family and friends.
My name is Mrs Griffin-Jones and I am in class on Friday's. I started working at Halebank C of E Primary as a cover teacher teaching in all year groups, but more recently I was the class teacher in Class 1 and am now a part-time teacher in Class 3. I particularly enjoy teaching Science, (prior to teaching, I had a career in Science), as I love observing how children investigate problems and develop a desire to find out more. I really enjoy seeing how children develop in all aspects of learning and how much more independent and self-assured they become when they move from KS1 to KS2. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family - most often stood on the sidelines watching my son play rugby! I also have a great love of reading, travel, running and more recently crochet - hats are a speciality!
My name is Mrs Gibson and I am a teaching assistant in Class 3. I have worked at Halebank for the past three years. Before joining this school, I worked at another local primary school where I supported children with Special Educational Needs. I love working alongside children and seeing them grow, develop and fulfil their potential. I have a degree in Integrated Practice for Children and Young People which I am very proud of. I enjoy swimming, dancing and visiting the USA.
Our Class PE is on a Wednesday and Friday. Please come to school dressed in your PE kit on these days. Please remember to wear your outdoor PE kit as the weather becomes wetter and colder.
Times Tables and Spellings are given out on a Monday, in preparation for tests on a Friday. Children have also been given log in details for Sumdog and Times Tables Rockstars and are encouraged to access these regularly. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions about this.
Children are expected to read each night. Chldren have separate class reading books for now. If a home reading book needs changing, please bring it in and inform either Mrs Eley or Mrs Griffin-Jones and we can arrange this safely.
