Courageous Advocacy
What is a courageous advocate?
A courageous advocate is someone who champions a cause which is special and meaningful to them. Here at Halebank Church of England Primary School we have a strong emphasis on encouraging our pupils to become courageous advocates, not just locally, but nationally and globally.
Throughout the year we use a range of resources as well as planned and incidental opportunities to encourage and develop courageous advocacy.
We have supported many causes over the last few years, many suggested by pupils, staff or other members of our school community:-
NSPCC
Comic Relief
Sports Relief
Children in Need
Support for Ukraine (local)
Cystic Fibrosis
School Fund
Halton Hospice
Kindness Cupboard (school)
Anchor Care Home Widnes
We have three Wellbeing Ambassadors in school who help us to identify causes or issues that need to be addressed. We are very proud of the work that they have done. Our pupils are mindful of our values at all times and apply these to our work towards becoming courageous advocates. Courage is needed to persevere and stand up for something or someone you believe in, to make a difference!
